Betty was a HISAM volunteer since the museum opened in 2002. She greeted many visitors during her second floor front desk hours of Wednesday 10-1 PM. I had to laugh when I saw that donations are asked to made to the "Hawaiian State Art Museum". Betty would not have been amused but I know she would have shrug her shoulders and said, "Oh well". I was honored to have met her while at HISAM. My favorite memory involves a Wednesday group from ʻIolani School that gave both Betty and I a lei before their tour of the museum. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.

"May the Omnipresent comfort you among all the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem."

The HISAM volunteers and docents will all miss our Betty. Aloha ʻoe. Until we meet again.
